Dallas Cowboys Nation

New Stadium or Heaven on Earth???

So as I am browsing around the internet a few months back i started looking at the designs and photos of the future Cowboys Stadium …after looking at the pictures and fly-through videos, and even listening to a audio recording of Jerry, I realized one thing…..THIS PLACE IS BAD ASS! plain and simple. Of course it is going to be “THE SHIT” were talking about God’s football team, Americas team, the most valuable sports franchise in the world!!! Anything less than bad ass would be a disgrace. I found a video of the progress of the stadium……getcha popcorn ready!!!

GREAT SONG TOO!

Houston Media Please Just Shut Up !

I have been living here in Houston for almost three years now and have just about had it with the media here! I was born and raised in north Texas and through all of my life in the metroplex never once considered Houston a rival of any type to any of the Dallas area teams, about the closest thing would be the Rockets (but even that has not been much of a rival). I like most in the Dallas area have always pulled for Texas teams (other than the Spurs) so it has been absolutely shocking to me to hear these dipshits around Houston talk. To hear them talk about Dallas teams you would think that Dallas is a heated division rival! This makes no sense what so ever as the Texans are not even in the same conference nor have they been in the league long enough to build any type of rivalry with a non conference opponent. I am not even going to include the Rangers in this because they are way too shitty to have anyone as a rival!
Since I am an avid sports/Dallas fan I am forced to listen to one of two sports talk radio stations (790 or 610) and theses people are awful they have absolutely nothing better to talk about than some one side hatred for Dallas teams. They say the most moronic things. The week following the Cowboys playoff loss to the Giants the ding-a-ling on 790 in the afternoon (I am not going to give him the satisfaction of having his name mentioned) he was having people call in to respond to this question ” Did the Cowboys and Colts choke! ” and his stance was that the Cowboys choked (I agreed with him on this part) and the colts just got outplayed! Come the fuck on are you serious! You have absolutely got to be kidding me! The Colts choked just as bad as the Cowboys did, It is this kind of bullshit that Houston sports fans have to listen to no wonder everyone here hates Dallas (except for a select few).
I would just like to tell the Houston media one thing, FUCK YOU!! Spend your time talking about how to fix your own fucking teams and leave mine alone. Trust me Houston area teams have enough of there own problems for you to talk about or does it make it easier on you to not have to discuss your own deficiencies. I try to follow your teams and wish them well and should want to really pull for them as this is my home now but you all make it very difficult. I guess you only want your kind here and that is fine but I will promise you this every time I go to a game I will be sporting my teams colors!

The magic man !!!

Things are taking a turn to the good for the Cowboys defense, Dave Campo was officially hired yesterday as the secondary coach! This is a wonderful move by Jerry Jones and Wade phillips. There is one small detail that is a little disconcerning apparently his number one priority is going to be Roy Willy ( A.K.A Shitbag )all I can say to Dave is good luck. Dave although in his press conference yesterday did not give Willy a ringing endorsement saying “I think I can get with him and we can see if we can progress. I think Roy has skills and I think he can play better than he’s playing.” This does not sound like someone very convinced that he can help a shitty football player be less shitty, lets just hope that he is not being judged completely on what he does with Roy Willy! The Cowboys also have interviewed former Texans and Panthers head coach Dom Capers for the vacant linebackers coaching position. Wade Phillips although was very evasive when talking about capers it does appear however that he will be offered this position, and if accepted I think we could see major improvements on the defensive side of the ball.

In other news Greg Ellis will be making his first Pro Bowl appearance giving the Cowboys 13 pro bowlers. Ellis will be an injury replacement for Chicago linebacker Lance Briggs. Ellis had an outstanding year following a career threatening Achilles’ tendon tear in 2006. This comes shortly after winning the comeback player of the year award. I only wish Ellis would stop his 5th grade temper tantrums. If you remember just days after losing to the Giants he was already starting with the remarks about how he was going to get moved out to give more playing time to Anthony Spencer, and at the start of training camp he was crying about his contract! The Cowboys would be well served to keep Greg and let him pass his knowledge on to Spencer as he is not quite ready to be the force that Ellis is. If anyone on this team should get moved it should be Willy not Greg Ellis!

Surely Not !!!

Have you heard the latest rumor? Word around town is that the Cowboys are exploring the idea of a trade with the Miami Dolphins to acquire the first overall pick in the draft! Sounds like a great idea right! WRONG,WRONG,WRONG !!!! It seems as though the major component to this trade is Marion Barber. Has Jerry lost his fucking marbles! or is he simply making another Jerry move?
I like most people have thought Marion Barber should be the guy next year. He brings something to the table that the Cowboys sorely need ANGER!! He is the most angry, mean back I have seen. Why then would you even contemplate doing such a thing as trading him away? Well this story runs deeper than X’s and O’s. Mr. Barber is a restricted free agent this year which means the Boys are going to have to pony up to keep him! You couple this with Jerry’s itch to have a Razorback as the featured back in Dallas and what you end up with is a man going against his better judgement just to satisfy his personal feelings.
I believe that Mr. McFadden will be a nice Pro player. I do not however believe he is worth mortgaging the future of this team for! How can you put so much faith into someone that in most of his collegiate games was on the bench at the end of the game!! Don’t get me wrong the kid can play but he spent as much time playing quarterback as he did running back so which position is he going to play? Is Tony Romo’s job in jeopardy?
Jerry you have done some wonderful things in Dallas (and some really stupid things) but don’t throw it all away for this fucking guy! All you have to do is just add a few pieces here and there to what you already have. I know its been awhile since you made a big splash with something but give me a fucking break!!
I sure hope that this is just rumor not only for me but for the rest of Cowboy Nation!!

one sooner for another ?

As I do everyday I read the fort-worth star telegram (my favorite newspaper)today to see what was happening in the metroplex and unfortunately Roy Willy is still a Cowboy! I have been hearing this since the season ended and draft talk began but apparently the cowboys have Reggie Smith (CB from OU) in there sights! As we all know the Dallas secondary needs help in two major areas.
The first and most glaring need is at safety since the one we have SUCKS!!! and actually the best safety on the team is now a free agent (Ken Hamlin). In my opinion we would be better off if we could somehow find some idiot G.M. (Matt Millen) and sell him on how much he needs Roy Willy and trade his sorry ass and resign Hamlin. This would make the secondary look something like this DB1= T-New DB2= Draft FS= Anthony Henry or Pat Watkins SS= Ken Hamlin.
Second necessary Item would be the need for another stand alone corner to take Henry’s position alongside T-New.The word around town is that the cowboys have Reggie Smith on there radar. I would like to say that I like this kid and think he would bring some of the same things Henry brings to the table, tenacity, fierceness, and of course the obvious ability to cover. The problem I have with him is he is a Sooner and our recent track record with sooners is well shitty and I would rather not have any of there kind on the team. I would much rather see the boys try to swing a deal to get up in the draft and get a kid like Mike Jenkins from south Florida or Leodis McKelvin from Troy. either of these two guys would be great additions.
The key to any of this working out in Dallas’s favor is finding someone (Matt Millen) to take shit bag off there hands ( I am in favor of a Roy Williams for Roy Williams straight up).

“The Boot”

Sorry for the delay in posts the past few days have been very busy for me, as I spent the weekend moving into my new house.I did however make sure to try and catch sports center every evening to try and stay up to date with all the goings on of the sports world.
One story that is about to drive me nuts is this whole Tom Brady in a walking boot fiasco. Is there anyone out there who actually believes that Mr. Brady is not going to play in the Super Bowl? This is an absolute ridiculous assumption! I guess this is more of a story to try and give the Giants a little bit of false hope.
On a side note The Mavericks won again and just so everyone knows Josh Howard is the man! Dirk is a great player and all of that but the Mavericks are only going to go as far as Josh takes them! Hopefully the Rockets will get it together and get into the playoffs this year so we can have another Rockets vs Mavericks first round playoff series!( This way the Best in the West can take it to Yao again)
On the Cowboys front it seems as though we have a new defensive line coach , apparently Phillips decided the best man for the job was Todd Grantham (former defensive coordinator in Cleveland) I do not know a lot of history on Todd other than he was recently fired in Cleveland. Apparently the boys are also looking into possibly hiring Dave Campo to fill the position of secondary coach, personally I always liked Dave and thought he was a good position coach his units always seemed to perform well, he was just not a good head coach. There are still more hires to come so I will keep you posted!

Yao who ??

Along with being a avid follower of the Dallas Cowboys I also love me some Mavericks. So in the spirit of basketball season I see this as a perfect opportunity to write a piece on the mavs. Unfortunately for me living in Houston all I get to hear about is the Rockets though it could be worse and I could live in N.Y. and have to suffer through watching and hearing about the worst team ever assembled.
Our friends over at The Dreamshake have a wonderful site dedicated to the Rockets (a must read), but I being the smartass that I am try to seize any and all opportunities to talk a little shit when I can but only in good nature. Well here in Houston its all Yao all the time except in those rare occasions when T-Mac plays (which he has played in two in a row now).
The Mavs and Rockets are very similar in a couple of ways, each teams most notable player are from another country ( Yao Ming, Dirk Dirk) and they both have dominant centers. Yes thats right I said it Dominant centers! People can say what they want about who the leader of the Mavs is but I am here to tell you the undeniable Leader of this Mavs team is none other than Eric ” The best in the west” Dampier! I can here you now Lee & Dave (authors of The Dreamshake ) you think I am crazy right!! Well it just so happens I have Video proof of how much greater a player Damp is compared to Yao!

Yao does not have nothing on that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So long Mr. Jones

Well it seems the end of Julius Jone’s term with the Cowboys is upon us. I for one would like to take this time and in wishing him good riddance. Mr. Jone’s time here was pretty much a waste of time, his mere 588 yards this year is a perfect example of this. With “The Barbarian” playing the way he has played there is simply not any need for Jones.
The cowboys need a change of pace back to compliment Barber, but they need one that can continue to move the chains. Julius running style was just not compatible with this team. He spent to much time in the backfield dancing around looking for the perfect hole, when in reality the holes are there but by the time he gets to them they are closing up. Dallas needs a between the tackles back with break away speed ( for all of you that think this is Tyson Thompson you are so wrong). The Cowboys more than likely will address this problem in the draft as it is loaded with quality running backs.
I read in the Ft. Worth Star-Telegram this morning that Julius’s agent was very excited about their prospects! he went on to say that his client “will field some very strong offers” well I suppose someone will offer him a good chunk of change. The problem I had and have with Julius is somewhat similar with my issues with Roy Willy as I believe he is an excuse maker instead of working on his inadequacies he makes excuses such ” Coach Parcells had me running like a robot” granted Parcells is a jerk of the highest proportions but come on! he had to tell you how to run because you stayed in the backfield doing the mach arena instead of hitting the hole!
Well Julius now you can go off to some other team and make excuses and collect on those “very strong offers”. Thanks for the memories!
