Pacman to play Saturday!

I have came to the conclusion that anything you hear on ESPN or any other sports news broadcast is simply BS. A week ago Pacman’s injury was being called season ending, career ending, life threatening, contagious, etc. But it seems as though this was all wrong. Pacman is expected to play Saturday against the Ravens. This is good news for the Cowboys, this upcoming game is going to be heavily reliant on the performance of the Defense. With Pacman suiting up for the game this gives the D the all important “depth”. This defense has been playing possessed in the last few games, don’t expect anything different.

You might ask yourself what does Pacman bring to this already fiery defense this week against the Ravens? Well it is simple. ATTITUDE. With the Ravens defense being filled with some of the most intense players in the league the Cowboys must be able to match the intensity to be able to win this game.

Also, Pacman is a tremendously talented press covergae cornerback. I believe he can run with any receiver in the league and stay on them long enough to make a play on the ball. I do expect the Ravens to try and get Pac into a man coverage situation and try and “pick” on him since he is coming off of an injury that seemed pretty serious.

With Pacman being back in the rotation this will also allow Anthony Henry to continue to play at the Safety position in the sub packages. I only have two words for opposing teams for when this defense gets completly healthy in all areas…..WATCH OUT!

ESPN Fabricates Attack On Owens?

I spent my evening tonight driving from Houston to Dallas so that I can be with my father who is having surgery on Wednesday to remove a cancerous tumor from his colon. He was diagnosed with colon cancer just one week ago, as you can imagine it has been a pretty crazy and scary week. Thankfully I have a wonderful wife and child there for me. Sometimes though it is good to be by yourself to have the chance to think about things, and to just get away from everyday life. Now none of this has anything to do with football or the Dallas Cowboys, but I had to give some background as to why I would be driving to Dallas on a Tuesday night. At any rate while I was making the 4 hour trip from Houston, I was able to listen to some very good Cowboy talk radio. There is always plenty to talk about when it comes to the Cowboys, and tonight was no different. Follow me after the break to get the scoop on the Cowboys live from Dallas.>>>>>>>>

Pro Bowlers in Dallas

Last year the Cowboys had 13 pro-bowlers, this year only 5 get to make the trip to Hawaii. TE Jason Witten, C Andre Gurode, G Leonard Davis, DT Jay Ratliff, OLB DeMarcus Ware.

D-Ware is having an outstanding season for the Cowboys. He has been the key to the defenses success. He is now only a few sacks shy of the single season sack record (set by Strahan, 22.5) and I expect him to continue his onslaught of O-Line abuse for the remaining 2 games. (and well into the playoffs) I wish someone would try and say that there is a better Defensive End/LB in the league right now. I DARE YOU!

Witten has been a reliable target again this year for Romo, and is still the best tight end in the NFC in all aspects of the game.

Ratliff has been another key to the defensive machine this season, he has impressed me this year and has really turned into a feared pass rusher. I really have enjoyed watching the stunts and defensive schemes the Cowboys have used this year with Ratliff, as well as the others on the front line.

Big Leonard Davis is a very consistent lineman, He is everything you want in a guard and probably could play any O-Line position for the Cowboys.

Gurode is playing like a 7 year veteran should and I am glad he has stayed healthy this year since the O-Line has been unjury prone all season.

Cracking the Jason Garrett code

Jason Garrett’s offensive scheme is much like the DaVinci code. And by that I mean stupid. But seriously I have been thinking about this a lot, evey game there has been something that just keeps rubbing me the wrong way, and that is why in the world do the Cowboys not run a slant route!!! I have come to the conclusion that Jason Garrett has created his offensive philoshophy around the Fibonacci number sequence. Yeah, tell me about it! In order to understand the game plan you must have a PHD in Mathematics, Psychology, and Organic Chemistry. The only problem with this is that none of the Cowboys meet this criteria!!

The longer I thought about it i came to another conclusion maybe Garrett suffers from some sort of Slant Route Phobia? Did he have a bad child hood encounter with a Slant Route? Did he have an angry Slant Route monster hiding in his closet at night? Because that would be pretty scary for a young boy. Someone please help me understand this problem! More importantly these double and triple move routes the Boy’s seem to run aren’t fooling anyone and they obviously don’t work.

Cowboys Defense Pounds Giants & Eli Manning

New York Giants v Dallas Cowboys

I would like to take some time this morning to formally introduce the 2008 Dallas Cowboy Defense. WOW! Elisha was running for his life all night and spent the majority of his time laying on his backside. The Dallas defensive front four dominated the “Best O-Line in football” last night sacking Elisha EIGHT times! Did the offensive cry babies anger this defense? Or are they tired of hearing that they were underachieving? Follow me after the break and we will look into the answers to these questions, and enjoy a HUGE win by our Cowboys last night!

Cowboys vs. Giants

Well just as predicted the Cowboys defense made Elisha eat turf all night. They sacked him 8 times in the 20-8 win on Sunday night. It is like the defense was aerating the turf at Texas Stadium with Elisha’s butt cheeks. This was absolutely a huge win for the Cowboys, not only does it keep their playoff hopes alive but it was the last time these two teams will ever meet in Texas Stadium.

The offense looked flat for most of the game and with the help of another heroic performance by Tashard Choice they sealed the win over the defending World Champs. I am still not happy with the play calling from “Boy Wonder” Jason Garrett, I am still not jumping on that bandwagon until I see some big advances with this talented offense. The whole T.O., Witten, Romo drama seemed non existent to me, other than the fact that is still all you hear about on ESPN

I feel like the Cowboys and the Giants almost switched positions in this game. Meaning now the Giants are in the spotlight with the whole Plaxico issue tearing their team apart, even if they say it’s not.  Now I think Giants fans have a lot to worry about. Back to back losses in the NFC East! what happened to this being the best team in football? Oh yeah, THEY CAME TO DALLAS!

Recievers Attempting A Hostile Takeover

Just three days before the biggest game of the year for the Cowboys and all hell is breaking loose. Ed Werder of ESPN broke the story yesterday that the recieving corps (Led by T.O.) of the Dallas Cowboys are not happy with their lack of being involved in the offense. Terrell Owens, Roy Williams (the good one), and Patrick Crayton apparently sought out a meeting with O.C. Jason Garrett to discuss their issues, and apparently intentionally left out Tony Romo and Jason Witten from the meeting. Follow me after the break as I try to break down this situation and determine what is actually happening>>>>>>

The Pac is Down For the Count

Well, Pacman made his return from the suspension only to suffer a neck injury which could have him riding the pine for the remainder of the season. Even with Pac serving his suspension he still leads the Boys with 13 pass break up’s, and he played a pretty significant role in the Steeler’s game. The injury plague has struck the Cowboys this year and the epidemic seems to be continuing around the locker room. A little glimpse of hope came today when Coach Phillips said it is looking good for the return of rookie CB Mike Jenkins for the Giants game, but it is not official yet.

Here is just a few other noteable Cowboys that sat of of practice today:

Marion Barber- pinkie toe, calf
Jason Witten- sprained right ankle
WR Roy Williams- foot
Ken Hamlin- foot
Montrae Holland- ankle
