Rumor has it that the Cowboys will be adding Safety, Gerald Sensabaugh, who agreed to a one year deal sometime today. He was a 5th round pick for the Jaguars in the 2005 Draft. At 25 years old this could be a good addition for the Cowboys. Check out some stats after the break.
A few Updates!
Well the 2009 NFL Draft order is now in place and here are the Cowboys picks this year:
1st Round- 0
2nd Round- 19th spot
3rd Round- 5th (from Cleveland)
4th Round- 1st (from Detroit), and 17th
5th Round- 20th, and 30th (from Tennessee)
6th Round- 24th (from Miami)
7th Round- 1st (from Detroit), and 18th
I am assuming Double J will try and trade up into a middle 1st round position to pick up a specific player, god knows we need a slew of good picks this season and hopefully we don’t waste them on hideous players (i.e. Bobby Carpenter).
In an article by Nick Eatman, I read that the Cowboys have somewhere around $10 million to spend in free agency this year, but the word is they probably wont be going for any big name free agents. No more hope for Ray Lewis being a Cowboy??
Contract discussions have started with D-Ware. Though he is not a free agent for another year, the rumor is that this could be the largest deal in Cowboys history as well as for any defensive player in the league. This is a deal that Jerry has to get done, just open the checkbook and give him the money he deserves! Do not even think twice about it! He is the foundation of this defense and will be for many years to come!
Ray”Don’t Like Me Respect Me” Lewis possibly coming to Dallas?
With the Ravens season screeching to a halt last night against the Steelers the rumor came out that the Cowboys might be making a run for Ray Lewis, who becomes a free agent for next season. Read the rumor here!

The “Jerry-Go-Round” shows no signs of stopping
Well it seems as if Jason Garrett’s season did not do much for his stock as an aspiring head coach in the NFL. NOT EVEN THE ST. LOUIS RAMS WANT HIM! The question for me now is what do the Cowboys do with him. Many of my Cowboy hating “friends” suggest that Ol’ Cream Puff Phillips should get the boot and Garrett should be calling the shots. But me, not so much. He did not impress me this year either, yes I know my opinion really doesn’t matter but I can’t possibly be the only person that would be a little “iffy” with Jason Garrett at the reins. It is funny to me at how much your opinion on someone can change within one year. Honestly, I will admit it, I was one if the ones who jumped on the Jason Garrett band wagon last season after he showed us all a glimpse of what seemed to be an offensive coordinator genius in motion. WRONG! I will give him one more shot to prove that he is all that Jerry sees in him and if there is not a significant improvement….I’m kicking him off the Jerry-Go-Round!!!!
Changes in Big D
Well it seems as if someone in Dallas has finely realized what we have been saying all year long! It is time for there to be some changes around this team. The first relatively big change came when the Cowboys fired Brian Stewart who was the Defensive Coord. for the past 2 years. >>>>>>>

Cowboys Draft Prospects
Seeing as how were not intensely dialed in to the playoff scene here at Cowboy Nation I thought it would be good to start talking about the Draft. I know it might be early but I just have to start thinking about next season, and put the laughable 2008 season behind me!

Sighhhhh…..

It seems the Cowboys horrific season is among the most joked about topics of the new year.
I warn you Cowboys fans….It is pretty bad.
A seven year old boy was at the center of a county courtroom
drama yesterday when he challenged a court ruling over who
should have custody of him. The boy had a history of being
beaten by his parents and the judge initially awarded custody
to his aunt, in keeping with child custody law and regulation
requiring that family unity be maintained to the highest
degree possible.
The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt
beat him more than his parents and he adamantly refused to
live with her. When the judge then suggested that he live with
his grandparents, the boy cried and said that they also beat
him. After considering the remainder of the immediate family
and learning that domestic violence was apparently a way of
life among them, the judge took the unprecedented step of
allowing the boy to propose who should have custody of him.
After two recesses to check legal references and confer with
the child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary
custody to the Dallas Cowboys, whom the boy firmly believes
are not capable of beating anyone.
Pac No More
Well it came to the attention of the media today that the Cowboys have released Pacman Jones. Again it had something to do with a strip club, hookers, guns, gangs, drugs, liquor, etc. Honestly, as a serious Cowboys fan I could not be happier. Let’s think about this for a second, Pacman gone means less hyped up drama from ESPN (Extremely Stupid People’s Network), and that is a plus for the Cowboys. Secondly this shows that someone in the Administration is finally getting some balls and realizing you don’t have to have a team of Thug A$$ gangsters to be good. Hopefully this is the first of a lot of reconstructive moves in the off season, because right now this team is in deep shit.
On another note the Cowboys lost practice squad receiver Danny Amendola to none other than the Eagles. I was really hoping to see Amendola on the field with Romo one day. Oh well, Good Riddance.
Newman and Crayton both underwent ankle surgery but should be fully recovered by the time training camp rolls around!
Stay tuned for more updates!
One more game to save the season
Well tomorrow is D day for the Cowboys, so to speak. I love the Cowboys/Eagles Rivalry. It really is a great game every time these two teams meet up. Especially when a playoff birth is at stake. The Cowboys offense has to be firing on all cylinders tomorrow and I expect to see a different team on that side of the ball. This season the Cowboys “O” has been, well, inconsistent. The Romo injury proved to be a big hit to the Cowboys performance and showed us how important it is to have depth on a football team. If I would have told you 4 weeks ago that going into the last game of the regular season that Tashard Choice would be the best offensive player on the squad you would have called me crazy. Well, call me crazy but he has been the life line of this Cowboys team. I still don’t know the status of Marion for this game, I am guessing he will have a limited role again this week, but as long as Choice plays like he has been we should be alright in the running game. The big question for me is how well can the O-Line play and how well can Jason Garrett manage this game. It is funny how much can change for a team over one season. Last year Jason Garrett was being put on a pedestol by a lot of people, saying he should take the Head Coaching position instead of Ol’ Marshmallow Man. Well lets just say I am glad Wade is still the head man. I think the real problem for Jason Garrett has been that opposing defenses have figured out his game plan, and he has failed to make the neccessary adjustments.
Tomorrows game is a playoff game for both of these teams. I expect a lot of good defense and some big plays on the offensive side of the ball. I really hope we are talking more football after this week, plus I really don’t want to start disecting mock drafts and all that jazz this early!
GO COWBOYS!!!
